ASESINO Deep Drop Rigs have been developed using knowledge and experience gained from over twenty-five (25) years of fishing the depths, canyons and vertical walls of the Caribbean Sea and the tropical Pacific Ocean. Our rigs were designed to combat the problems encountered when using common rigs found on the market today. Typical problems faced by recreational deep drop fisherman include lost weights, tangled lines from fish “spinning” as they are reeled in, rigs being cut off by sharks, opened hooks and twisted or tangled leaders. Any one of these problems can cause damage to the rig, restrict your rig’s strength and usage or loss of the entire rig. No one wants to see an entire string of delicious fish go to the bottom.

All Asesino Rigs Feature the Following:

  1. Main Line is 480# test stainless steel 49-strand cable. A shark may steal a fish but your rig will be spared!
  2. Stainless steel 350# test lockfast swivel. Your weight will be safe and free to spin.
  3. We only use cadium plated MUSTAD circle hooks.
  4. A 350# test barrel swivel located in the mid section of main line allows for main to rotate in two directions as fish are brought up and avoids memory or twists.
  5. We use only high quality luminous beads to attract fish.
  6. High quality nickel swivels connect the main line to the leaders. Swivels are double bench-crimped to ensure no sliding. Double action allows the leader to spin while also allowing the leader to rotate around the main.
  7. Heat shrink tubing protects all sleeves on the main and eliminates hand cuts while handling the rig.
  8. Only heavy-duty oval copper double sleeves assemble the main line.
  9. We only use 350# test leader for longevity and abrasion protection.
  10. All leaders are secured using brass double sleeves.
